We are making a change to the Angel Cup qualification process!
From this year, you will no longer need to qualify for the Angel Cup by finishing in the top 3 or having the best Stableford score on one the days because we are moving to a FedEx Cup style process where everyone is eligible to play, with an advantage given to those members with the most Ryder Cup points accrued throughout the season.
Throughout the season, you accrue Ryder Cup points for your performance on golf days (15 points for first place, 12 for second, 10 third etc. down to 1 point for turning up) and for playing in the doubles and singles knockouts. This creates a ranking which is used to select the Ryder Cup team and this year will be used for seeding the top 10 players in the Angel Cup.
On the day of the Angel Cup;
1 All members are eligible to play.
2 A ranking / seeding for the event will be used based on the existing PGS Ryder Cup points scoring system, all points count.
3 On the day, the top 10 players in the Ryder Cup Point standings will receive a number of shots back depending on their ranking position;
No 1 = -6
No 2 & 3 = -5
No 4 & 5 = -4
No 6 & 7 = -3
No 8 & 9 = -2
No 10 = -1
All other players even.
